Getting started with Jo is quick and straightforward. This guide will walk you through the installation process step by step.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • An active e-commerce store on a supported platform
  • Admin access to your store
  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)

Supported Platforms

Jo currently integrates with:

  • Shopify (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Plus)
  • WooCommerce (3.0+)
  • BigCommerce (All plans)
  • Magento (2.0+)
  • Custom APIs (Enterprise plan)

Installation Steps

Step 1: Create Your Jo Account

  1. Visit getjo.io
  2. Click "Get Started" or "Try for Free"
  3. Enter your email address and create a password
  4. Verify your email address

Step 2: Choose Your Plan

Jo offers several pricing tiers:

  • Starter: Perfect for small stores (up to 1,000 orders/month)
  • Growth: For growing businesses (up to 10,000 orders/month)
  • Scale: For established stores (up to 100,000 orders/month)
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing for high-volume stores

Step 3: Connect Your Store

For Shopify:

1. In your Jo dashboard, click "Connect Store"
2. Select "Shopify" from the platform list
3. Enter your Shopify store URL (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com)
4. Click "Connect to Shopify"
5. Log in to your Shopify admin if prompted
6. Review and approve the permissions
7. Click "Install app"

For WooCommerce:

1. Install the Jo plugin from your WordPress admin
2. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Jo
3. Enter your Jo API key (found in your Jo dashboard)
4. Click "Connect"
5. Test the connection

For Other Platforms:

Each platform has specific connection steps. Select your platform in the Jo dashboard for detailed instructions.

Step 4: Initial Data Sync

After connecting your store:

  1. Jo will begin syncing your historical data
  2. This process typically takes 15-30 minutes depending on your store size
  3. You'll receive an email when the sync is complete
  4. During sync, you can explore Jo's features with sample data

Step 5: Configure Your Preferences

Once connected, customize Jo for your needs:

  1. Time Zone: Set your business time zone
  2. Currency: Confirm your primary currency
  3. Notifications: Choose how you want to receive insights
  4. Team Access: Invite team members (Growth plan and above)

Verification

To verify your installation:

  1. Go to your Jo dashboard
  2. Check the "Store Status" indicator (should show "Connected")
  3. Try asking a simple question like "What were my sales yesterday?"
  4. If you see results, congratulations! Jo is ready to use

Troubleshooting

Connection Failed

  • Verify you have admin access to your store
  • Check that your store URL is correct
  • Ensure you're on a supported platform version

Data Not Syncing

  • Check your store's API rate limits
  • Verify the Jo app has proper permissions
  • Contact support if sync takes longer than 2 hours

Missing Data

  • Jo needs at least 24 hours of data to provide meaningful insights
  • Historical data sync may take time for large stores
